One of the oldest animals on the planet has been spotted off the coast of Long Beach. On November 28th onlookers aboard Harbor Breeze’s 12:00pm Dolphin & Sea Life cruise sighted the first Gray Whale of the season. Gray Whales have been in existence for approximately 10 million years.
The following cruises proved to be just as memorable; we sighted a pod of 6 Orcas on both November 29th and this past Sunday December 7th. Dave Bader, School Programs Manager at the Aquarium of the Pacific, said in an informal interview, “the number of whales off the coast of Long Beach is a phenomenon never seen in history.”
